Anambra 2021: Senator Uche Ekwunife heads PDP Campaign

Senator Uche Ekwunife has emerged the campaign Director General of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 6, 2021.
Ekwunife, the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, was among the PDP governorship aspirants who lost to Valentine Ozigbo at party’s primary election conducted on Saturday, June 26, this year.
The PDP had set up a reconciliation committee headed by Adamawa State Governor, Ahmad Fintiri, to reconcile the PDP governorship aspirants shortly after its Governorship primary election.
Addressing Journalists shortly after the reconciliation in Abuja, the Adamawa State Governor said that they had reconciled all the PDP governorship aspirants.
He said all the Aspirants agreed and unanimously appointed Ekwunife as the campaign DG of the Party.
“We carried out the directives of our governors and reconciled all the aggrieved aspirants and it was unanimously agreed that Senator Uche Ekwunife be appointed the campaign Director and she is so appointed. With her appointment, the campaigns for PDP recapturing will soon kick off. All aspirants have been reconciled. Anambra state belongs to the PDP and this will be confirmed at the November 6 governorship election,” Fintiri said.
In her acceptance speech, Senator Ekwunife pledged her commitment to work for the victory of PDP in the election.
The PDP governorship candidate,Valentine Ozigbo said with the reconciliation, the PDP was set to win the election, adding that Anambra State had always been PDP.
National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus expressed confidence that the party was prepared to takeover Anambra State.
