Anambra 2021: Voting begins as Gov. Obiano, wife, deputy governor cast votes

Voting has commenced across polling units in Anambra State as the people of the state go to the poll today Saturday November 6, 2021, to elect their next Governor.
Our Correspondent reports that Officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Materials and security officials arrived early at about 8am in most polling units across the State.
As at 9:58 am, the State Governor, Willie Obiano and his wife have cast their votes at Eri 04 polling Station.
Obiano while speaking with Journalists urged voters to come out and cast their votes.
He expressed confidence that the exercise would go-on peacefully.
Also, the Anambra State deputy governor, Dr Nkem Okeke, has also voted at his polling unit 005, Ward 3, Umueze Awovu in Enugwu-Ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area.
Voting also commenced at Umueze ward polling Station ward 1 at Amawbia, in Awka South Local council area as at 8:58am.
At Enugwu-Ukwu polling Station 003 and 0015 Enuagu village, Enugwu-Ukwu Ward 1 voting and accreditation commenced at about 9:31am.
However, there was a report of late arrival of voting materials in some polling units in Onitsha.
While in some areas in Onitcha, the residents appear to be observing the cancelled sit-at-home as there were no too many voters on ground at the polling units.
As of the time of filing this report, no issue of security breach recorded anywhere in the State.
