Anambra indigenes in Diaspora endorse Soludo

Indigenes of Anambra State in the Diaspora have endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for the November 6 governorship election in the State.
The group also urged Anambra indigenes at home to vote for him.
A statement made available to journalists in Awka on Tuesday, by the group said it was concerned about the pedigree of who becomes the next governor of the State.
They noted that the State needed a Governor that would ensure security of lives and property as well as advancement of development in all sectors.
The statement was signed by former Mayor of Enfield England, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi; Mayor of Atlanta Georgia, Prince Neville Uchendu; and Dr Michael Chukwujekwu, Chairman, Planning and Strategy Committee.
They disclosed that decision was taken during Anambra Indigenes in the Diaspora global meeting held virtually between September 10 and September 12, 2021.
According to them, members who participated considered a wide range of issues affecting the state especially the forthcoming governorship election slated for November 6.
The group explained that candidates presented by other political parties were equally good, but that it was choice of Soludo was devoid of bias and done in the best interest of the state.
They added that the state needed an individual with the intellectual dynamics to steer the ship of the state to safe harbor considering the national and global socio-political and economic challenges.
Part of the statement reads: “After due considerations, the Anambra Indigenes in the Diaspora unanimously adopted Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as the preferred governorship candidate for the November 6.
“The Diasporas overwhelmingly request the entire Anambra people to align with, and support Prof. Soludo because the state is in serious need for sustenance of good governance”, the statement noted.
“We are convinced that Soludo has the integrity, pedigree and visionary leadership accume to drive the state to the next level of development in infrastructure, human capital, industrial, education, health, agriculture and other sectors.”
They further assured that if Soludo was elected that they would mobilize forces in countries of their residence to galvanize development in the State.
Members of the indigenes in the Diaspora are made up of people living in the United States of America, Unitied Kingdom, Russia, Germany, Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Italy and India.
