Another market razed in Lagos
Barely weeks after the popular Akere spare parts market in the Ajegunle axis of Ajeromi-Ifelodun local government area of Lagos was gutted by fire, another known automobile parts market in Ikeja was hit, early Thursday morning by a mysterious blaze.
The mystery fire which struck the Olowu market in Ikeja was said to have started before the break of dawn on Thursday, and caused millions of Naira loses to the traders who are mostly Igbo, from the South East region of the country, same as the Akere spare parts markets.
The Oluwo spare parts market disaster is also coming barely hours after the footwear section of the Balogun Market on the Lagos Island went up in smoke, Tuesday morning, leaving in its trail millions of Naira damages.
The fire at the Olowu spare parts market, in Ikeja has since being brought under control, but burnt wares still litter the scene of the disaster.
The market also sold air-conditioners, vehicle parts, including motorcycles, among others.
Responders from the Lagos State Fire Service, as well as, those security operatives were sighted at the scene of the fire to bring the situation under control.
