APC fixes new dates for suspended National Caucus, NEC meetings
National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has notified party leaders of a new date for the suspended National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.
According to the notice which was posted by the APC Acting National Secretary, Felix Fuanter and made public, Saturday, the National Caucus meeting will hold on 2nd August at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.
The notice also informed that the NEC meeting will hold on August 3 at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Nigeria’s President and Vice President, leaders of the National Assembly who are APC members as well as other party leaders in the zones are expected to attend both meetings. Also, former President, Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo are expected to attend the Caucus meeting.
The party had suspended the planned meetings following the sudden resignations by National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore and the National Vice Chairman North-West, Salihu Lukman from their positions.
Deputy National Chairman North, Abubakar Kyari and the Deputy National Secretary Felix Fuanter are both acting as National Chairman and National Secretary respectively.
It is expected that the matter of filling the vacant spots of the National Chairman and National Secretary will be discussed at both meetings.
In addition, the issue of the party finances as well as general party management will be discussed at the party.
