Ariaria Market Chairman slumps during prayer meeting, dies
*Ikpeazu expresses shock, sends condolences

The Chairman of the Management Committee of Ariaria International Market, Aba, Elder Emeka Igara, reportedly slumped during a prayer meeting held at the market and was later pronounced dead in an hospital. Late Igara was aged 74.
The Septuagenarian died on Friday, January, 2023 after he had reportedly slumped during a prayer meeting held at the market and was rushed to hospital for medical attention where he passed away.
Already, Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has expressed shock over the sudden death of Igara and has sent his deep condolences to the family of the deceased.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, said his principal was deeply shocked by the news of Igara’s death.
“The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, received with sadness and grief, the shocking news of the death of Elder Emeka Igara today (Friday, January 20, 2023).
“Elder Igara, who was the Chairman of the Management Committee of Ariaria International Market, was part of the Prayer Meeting held earlier today at the Market where he suddenly developed signs of illness and was rushed to a nearby hospital in company of his two sons who were present at the prayer meeting.
“Governor Ikpeazu has just been informed of the death of Elder Igara by his son, Igara Samuel. Elder Igara was aged 74 years.
“A deeply distraught Governor Okezie Ikpeazu sends his condolences to members of the Igara family, Executives and Traders of Ariaria International Market and all friends and associates of the Late Elder Igara. The Governor prays the Almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest,” the statement read.
