Arvind Pathak appointed as GMD of Dangote Cement Plc
Mr Arvind Pathak has been appointed as the Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement Plc following the approval by the board of the company .His appointments takes effect from March 1.
The Company Secretary of the Dangote Cement, Mr.Edward Imoedemhe, disclosed in a statement obtained from the website of the Nigerian Exchange Plc.
Pathak’s appointment follows the retirement of Michel Puchercos from the Board of Directors and as the Group Managing Director/CEO of Dangote Cement Plc effective 28th February 2023.
Dangote Cement said the appointment of Pathak will be included in the agenda at the next Annual General Meeting for ratification by the shareholders in accordance with the Companies and Allied Matters Act.
The company expressed appreciation to Michel Puchercos for his commitment and contributions to the Board and wishes him well in his future endeavours while welcoming Mr. Arvind Pathak back to the Dangote family and wishing him success in his new role.
Pathak, until his latest appointment, was the Chief Operating Officer of Dangote Cement Plc. from 2018 to 2019, with more than 36 years experience in the cement industry. Prior to joining Dangote Cement Plc, he worked at Reliance Cement as CEO from 2008 to 2015. He was previously the Regional CEO of Associated Cement Company Limited, having worked most of his tenure in turning around business, operations and maintenance of plants, as well as leading important greenfield projects. He obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1980 and a postgraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and Management in 1982. He has also been trained in a number of international management colleges and was a Fulbright scholar.
He is expected to bring his over 36 years of experience in the cement industry to bear on his new job. He has worked most of his tenure in turning around businesses, operations, and maintenance of plants, as well as leading important Greenfield projects.
