At Eid Luncheon, Aisha Buhari celebrates partners
The First Lady of Nigeria, Dr. Aisha Buhari, has acknowledged the productive partnerships she enjoyed in the last eight years, singling out development partners, members of the diplomatic corps, and the wives of governors for supporting the Aisha Buhari Foundation to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged Nigerians. She was speaking during a lunch event organized to celebrate the end of Ramadan at the State House Abuja on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Mrs. Buhari said the valuable contributions of partners in healthcare, education, empowerment of youth and women, and humanitarian assistance for peace and development made the journey easier, smoother, and more productive.
“I consider today’s event worthy of celebration because it marks the last Eid el Fitr event in my husband’s tenure as the president of Nigeria,” she said.
She solicited the cooperation of the partners for the incoming administration to secure the future of our women, youths, and children.
Those who spoke at the event commended the First Lady for her fruitful engagements that led to many life-changing initiatives; they include the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and High Commissioner of the Republic of Cameroon, Ambassador Salaheddine Abbas, Dr. Asabe Vilita Bashir, Director General of the National Centre for Women Development, and National Woman Leader, APC, Dr. Betta Edu. Others are the Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Representatives, Hon.
