‘Ayade, worst thing to happen to Cross River,’ says Sen. Jarigbe
[From ANIEKAN ANIEKAN, Calabar]
Senator representing Cross River North in the National Assembly, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe says Governor Ben Ayade is the worst thing to happen to the state since its creation.
Senator Jarigbe made this known in Ogoja during the launch of ‘Reclaim Cross River State,’ a political support group within the PDP.
The political pressure group is working for the actualization of the gubernatorial aspiration of Professor Sandy Ojang Onor.
Speaking further, Senator Jarigbe said the unprecedented primitive acquisition by the administration is unprecedented in the history of the state and called on the people of the state to rally round the ambition of Professor Onor.
“The Ayade led government is the worst thing that has happened to Cross River State right from inception.
“The brazen embezzlement triggered by unmitigated quest for primitive acquisition of material wealth is unprecedented in the annals of our history.
“Senator Sandy is not materialistic inclined, he is humane and development inclined, that’s why we want him as our next Governor”, he said.
On the prospect of a PDP victory in subsequent elections in the state at large, Senator Jarigbe stated that PDP will win any election easily
He said this is hinged on the viable tangible projects attracted to Ogoja/Yala as well as other federal constituencies across the state.
“Unlike Ayade’s digital monumental projects designed to fail, conceptualized as a drain pipe to flee away our common patrimony, the projects facilitated by PDP lawmakers to the state are viable, tangible, people oriented and intended to address the needs our people”
He implored youths across the state to refuse to be part of the imbecility in the state in the name of food on the table.
“We can’t mortgage the future of our children to a man who has sacrificed basic amenities like water, electricity, health, education, infrastructure and even security all on the altar of Food on the table. Food has never been the challenge of Cross River State”, he said.
He alleged a ploy by the present administration to arrest party men and label them ritualists ahead of the elections saying the people should remain calm as the country is not a banana republic.
He urged his constituents to remain calm and be law abiding, pledging his resolve to submit a petition to the Senate and the Inspector General of Police over the issue.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Reclaim Cross River, Mr John George, called on well meaning Cross Riverians to align forces and rescue the state from ditch orchestrated by the APC led by Governor Ben Ayade.
