
Back to business: EKEDC restores transaction channels after system upgrade

Customers of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) who might have been stuck in portal downtime in the period the company embarked on systems upgrade can now return to the online platforms to interface with services.

The company weekend announced full restoration of its vending services following a seamless migration to a new, state-of-the-art platform designed to enhance operations and significantly elevate customer experience to a new height.
According to the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh, “The team is excited to unveil this innovative platform, which reflects our commitment to delivering excellent service and meeting the evolving needs of our customers. This upgrade marks a significant milestone in our journey toward transforming our operations and offering more value to our esteemed customers.”
The company stated that with the systems upgrade now live following the brief transition period, customers would now enjoy unparalleled convenience and transparency.
It listed key features in the new platform to include self-service portal which enables customers to access their accounts to view vending history, consumption patterns, and other vital information.
Another feature, the enhanced complaint tracking, is streamlined system that allows customers to monitor the status of their complaints easily; while the improved user experience is also a new upgraded platform that ensures smoother and efficient service delivery.
The company also introduced the meter data/billing management which it says improves the billing system and also enhances meter data management and monitoring.
There is also the streamlined workflow automation, which streamlines workflow, allowing the team to focus on delivering a superior customer experience.
“EKEDC appreciates its customers’ patience and understanding during the transition period, which lasted from 6 PM on Friday, October 18, to 6 AM on Monday, October 21, 2024. The temporary downtime was necessary to facilitate the upgrade and ensure the optimal performance of the new platform,” the company stated.
