Bishop Ibeabuchi celebrates birthday with Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving Service and Birthday Celebration of the Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Anglican Communion, Church of Nigeria, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi, holds on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Okaiuga Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu East Archdeaconry, Diocese of Umuahia.
A statement by Public Relations Officer (PRO), Council of Knights, Diocese of Umuahia and former Abia State Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ), Sir Uzomba Ekwuribe, revealed that the birthday celebration expected to attract the cream of Abia Society.
They include the leadership and membership of Council of Knights, the Clergy and Congregations of the Diocese of Umuahia, family and friends of Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi.
The event would feature a fund raiser for the completion of his home Church, St. Thomas Anglican Church, Ubaha, which he started building before his enthronement as the Bishop of the Diocese of Umuahia.
The birthday celebration which the Bishop wants to be low keyed, in view of the economic hardship challenging most Nigerians, has the Chaplain of the Council of Knights and Vicar of the host Church, Venerable Obinna Orji, as the Chairman of the Bishop’s Committee of Good Friends.
Chairman of the Committee of Good Friends, Venerable Obinna Orji, said that the birthday celebration coincided with the Bishop’s official visit to St. Michael’s Church, Okaiuga, for confirmation and admissions, congratulated the Bishop on his birthday while welcoming him to St. Michael’s Church. He also expressed joy that the project would be completed as planned as the Committee has raised over N5million for it, leaving a balnce N5 million of the targetted N10 million.
The Committee, according to Venerable Orji, has concluded arrangements to make the birthday celebration of Bishop Obijuru Ibeabuchi, a successful event.
