Buhari returns to Abuja after EXPO 2020 in Dubai
President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after participating in the EXPO 2020 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The President touched down at the presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at about 2:32 GMT.
He was received by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello and heads of security agencies.
The President was accompanied on the visit by 10 Ministers, who also showcased Nigeria’s potentials in various sectors.
During his four-day trip, the Nigerian leader called on world leaders to reinforce partnerships to limit the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was Nigeria Day at the EXPO DUBAI 2020, last Friday, December 3, 2021.
“Our participation in EXPO DUBAI 2020 is a great opportunity to showcase the potential of Africa’s largest economy, at the single most important global event of its kind to take place in the Middle East, Africa and the South East Asian regions in recent years.
“Nigeria is participating in this epoch-making event in order to explore opportunities that are capable of unlocking the huge potentials that abound in our country, as we make conscious efforts to be a strategic partner of choice for the global community,” President Buhari stated.
He also addressed a trade and investment forum organised by the Nigerian Arabian Gulf Chamber of Commerce, Nigeria’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) last Saturday
It is believed that more investors from the United Arab Emirates and other parts of the world would soon flood Nigeria, in response to the assurances given to them to President Buhari.
