Buhari returns to Abuja from Turkey
President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after attending the third Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit, hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey.
The President touched down at the presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport Abuja on Sunday at about 15:45 GMT.
He was received by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello.
The President, who arrived in the company of his wife Aisha, had been in Turkey for four days.
He participated in the 3rd Turkey-African summit, where a lot of agreements were reached on how to enhance development.
During a bilateral meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his Turkish counterpart shortly before the official commencement of the 3rd Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit in Istanbul, Nigeria was able to cement her collaboration with Turkey on how to tackle terrorism, with Turkey offering to sail naval ships to Nigeria.
President Buhari got a surprise 79th Birthday last Friday in Istanbul, Turkey, where he cut a birthday cake moulded in national colours, green-white-green.
The 3rd Turkey African Summit provided an opportunity for the review of cooperation between Turkey and African countries.
The last summit was held in 2014.
