Completion of 2nd Niger Bridge in February 2022 remains sacrosant, says Fashola

Minister of Works and Housing, Babtunde Fashola SAN said the February 2021completion date for the Second Niger Bridge was sacrosanct.
Fashola who disclosed this on Tuesday while inspecting the project, said the work on the Bridge is at 80 percent completion.
He also said that work on the Owerri inter-change which connects the Bridge to Onitsha-Owerri expressway was at 70 percent completion.
Fashola who was happy at the progress of work, assured that by February next year the entire length of the Bridge would have been connected, even as the project would be completed with the revised budget.
The Second Niger Bridge project was re-awarded in 2018 at the cost of N206 billion.
The Minister also inspected progress of work at the Federal Secretariat Awka, which he said would be completed by October.
