Creative, tourism sectors under-utilised – FG
Federal Government has said that the country’s creative, entertainment, culture, and tourism sectors are under-utilised.
Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Maryam Katagum who said this in Abuja, further disclosed that the creative, entertainment, culture and tourism sectors provide significant commercial and investment prospects for the country.
Katagum said this during the 2nd Edition of the 2-day investment drive ‘Enjoy Nigeria Expo’ (ENEX 2022) in Abuja, Monday.
Represented by Head of the Department of Investment Promotion, Mrs. Gertrude Orji, the minister explained that the exhibition is part of Federal Government’s efforts at building a platform for investment in Nigeria’s ‘multibillion-dollar creative entertainment, cultural, and tourism industries.’
Katagum added that the creative, entertainment, culture, and tourism sectors were under-utilised, stating that the present administration is determined to strengthen public-private partnerships in important sectors like entertainment and tourism to boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product.
“This is consistent with the federal government’s objective to diversify the economy,” she added.
Katagum, therefore, pledged that the Federal Government ‘will continue to protect investors and their investments in the country,’ while further maintaining the required ease of doing business in critical non-oil industries.
