C’River Guber: We’ll exhaust all legal means towards reclaiming our mandate – PDP
From Aniekan Aniekan, Calabar
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has vowed to exhaust all legal means towards reclaiming its mandate.
The party made this known while reacting to the Appeal Court decision to uphold the election of the state governor, Senator Bassey Otu.
The PDP in a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Mike Ojisi also called on all supporters to remain calm despite the setback.
The State PDP also described the judgment as a temporary setback saying there is room at the Supreme Court and that’s the beauty of our democracy.
“We kindly appeal to our teeming supporters and party faithfuls to remain
calm as we are still committed to seeking legal opinions and exhausting all legal means towards reclaiming our mandate.
“The leadership of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Cross River State, has received with grave concern the judgement of the Governorship Appeal, which ultimately did not reflect the full conviction of our position on the processes leading to the election.
“While we are saddened by this temporary setback, we are, however, glad that there is still room at the supreme court and this is the beauty of our judicial system and democracy”, the party said.
