The Paramount Ruler of Ikom Local Government Area in Cross River State His Royal Majesty, Minen Takon Atangba Nkpa has advised couples to always preserve the sanctity of marriage, endure each other and do things collectively to have a good home.
The monarch made this known following the solemnization of holy matrimony between former Miss Ekebnta Okorn and Chuma Okafor at the City Church in Calabar, Cross River State.
According to the monarch, “Marriage is something that one should endure because there are times that are difficult and tough.
“When times are tough, you will see women who are not patient, it’s not a good thing because you took a vow.
“So both of them should respect each other, work together and whatever thing they want to do let them do it collectively so that it will be good for them in future”, the monarch said.
He congratulated the couple for keeping to the principles of God and prayed that the couple will “move long, reap the fruit of what they have sown, and the sky will be their limit in the near future”.
Earlier, the Pastor Goodluck Opue, the Officiating Pastor of City Church Calabar said God is the author of marriage.
He emphasized that marriages are problematic today because people have forgotten about the instructions of the author.
He listed some of God’s intention for marriage to include God’s pleasure, to reflect his image, promote higher values, to mirror God’s covenant relationship, sustain the stewardship of the earth and also multiply a godly legacy.
