Divorce: ‘We’re yet to receive court papers,’ says Paul Okoye’s lawyer
Singer, Paul Okoye has stated that he is yet to receive the divorce petition reportedly filed by his estranged wife, Thursday at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.
Okoye’s reaction came through his lawyer, Barrister Somadina Eugene Okorie who was reacting to the development that went viral on several news platforms in the country, Friday.
“I don’t think this subject worth breaking a sweat on, since as I talk with you, I’m yet to receive a brief touching the news already in circulation.
‘’If the story is real, I would have been briefed by now and this is devoid of sentiments,” Okorie said.
It would be recalled that Anita Tonye Okoye officially filed for divorce from her husband, Paul Okoye at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.
The couple has been married for 7 years, excluding their 10 years of courtship. Anita cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as reason for the divorce.
The couple has three children.
Anita and the children have been living in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States since 2019.
Paul is the younger sibling of Peter who both formed the famous Afro-contemporary duo of P-Square.
Anita’s petition to divorce Paul was sent to the latter, Thursday and addressed to his residence at 12B Eko Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, in Lagos.
