Abia State Police Command has assured the Christian community in the state of robust security during the 2025 Easter celebration. Christendom world over will celebrate this year’s Easter on Sunday, April 20, 2025, following which the federal government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday April 21, 2025 as public holidays
In a goodwill message to Christians on the occasion of the Easter celebration to commemorate the crucifixion, death and resurrection Jesus Christ, Abia State Police Commissioner, Danliadi Isa, assured that the Command will provide tight security during the festive period.
“In line with our commitment to ensuring public safety, the Command has activated a comprehensive Operation Order to provide robust security measures before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
“Security personnel have been strategically deployed across Abia State to guarantee the safety of life and property. Regular and special patrols of major roads, worship centers, recreational spots, and other public areas are ongoing. These efforts, alongside other covert and overt operations are aimed to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Easter celebration for all,” the Commissioner stated in a statement endorsed on his behalf by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka.
The statement added: Abia State Police Command extends warm Easter greetings to all Christian faithful in the state. As we observe this sacred occasion commemorating the resurrection of Christ, may joy, peace, and blessings abound in your hearts and homes.”
The Command called on all Abians to be vigilant and security-conscious. “You are kindly advised to report any suspicious individuals or activities to the Police or use our emergency hotlines via: 08035415405, 08079210004, 08079210005 and 08079210006 in order to nip crime at the bud. Stay safe and have a crime-free Easter celebration,” Isa said.
