
Enugu: Mob set ritualists ablaze for raping a 10-year old girl to death

Irate youths in Ede-Oballa Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, have burnt to death two suspected ritualists who allegedly raped a 10-year old girl to death on Monday.

The victim was allegedly raped and her vital organs harvested by the suspects.
The suspects are said to be natives of the community.
It was gathered that the lifeless body of a 10-year old girl from Ede-Oballa community was found in a bush in the area with some of her vital organs like breast and vagina removed.
The perpetrators were said to have been arrested on Monday, by a vigilante group, Neighborhood Watch, and taken to their office.
On hearing the arrest of the suspects on Monday, the natives were said to have rushed to the Neighborhood Watch office and over-powered the local security men, dragged out the two suspected ritualists set them on fire and watch them burn to death.
Reacting to the development, Val Omeje, President General of Ede-Oballa community confirmed the killing of the suspected ritualists by mob who overpowered local security.
Also, Hyginus Ogbu, the Councilor representing the area, also confirmed the development.
The duo said residents were angry over the raping to death of innocent 10-year girl and removing her vital body organs by the ritualists who were members of the community.
Efforts to reach the State Police spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, failed as of filing this report.
