Ex-senate president, Saraki joins 2023 Presidential race, battles Atiku for PDP ticket
Immediate past President of the Senate, and former governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, has joined the 2023 Presidential race, after he declared his intention, Wednesday, to contest the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Saraki made his intentions known via his Facebook page, Wednesday afternoon.
“Earlier, I replied to a follower of mine on Twitter who like thousands of you has been clamouring for a united front to #RescueNigeria.
“As we prepare for the journey ahead, I hope we can all join hands to get the ticket of our great party, PDP, and build a nation that works for all of us.
“Join me to make our communities safer and provide real opportunities for you and your families. I have a strong record of delivering and experience in making tough decisions.
“Let’s build a new Nigeria that works for everyone!” Saraki said.
It is now however, known if the PDP will zone the ticket to the North where the former Senate President represents.
Saraki now joins former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar in the fight for the PDP ticket from the North.
The PDP chieftain maintains he has a strong record of delivering and experience in making tough decisions.
