Female robber, three others arrested, as police raid criminal hideouts in Delta
Following a police raid on various criminal hideouts in Delta State, Monday, a female suspected robber was nabbed with various arms, live ammunition, mobile devices and hard drugs at her home.
The woman said to be a member of a burglary gang in the state was arrested along with other members of the syndicate.
The Police Command in the state said they found they trailed the female suspect to her home where they found a locally-made gun, five slugs, some stolen phones, cocaine, cannabis, among others, furing the search, on Monday, October 25.
The woman, whose name was given as Blessing Oghule, was arrested by operatives attached to the Raider Command in Delta State, after the Unit had also stormed several dark spots in Abraka in Asaba, the state capital.
According to the police, other members of the gang were identified as; Nweke Abudi, Ebuka Paul and Sunday Inuse.
Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, said the arrest was made from information gathered from unnamed sources, leading to the gang’s arrest along with the female member.
A bag containing substance suspected to be cannabis, another polythene pack containing substance suspected to be Ice and 10 wraps of substance suspected to be cocaine were recovered from the woman.
”The Raider Operatives of the state police order struck dark spots at Abraka pivot in Asaba. During the assault, three men and a woman in particular Blessing Oghule, Nweke Abudi, Ebuka Paul and Sunday Inuse were captured.
”While the men were captured at one of the dark spots, the woman was gotten up spot following knowledge report accumulated with regards to their exercises. They were supposed to be individuals from a theft pack.
”At the place of the capture of the said woman at her hideaway, one English Berreta gun with five live 9mm ammo, some taken telephones, one sack containing substance suspected to be Indian hemp, one polythene pack containing substance suspected to be Ice and 10 wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine were recuperated from her.
”They had given helpful data about their exercises to the police while more examination are progressing after which they will be arraigned in the official courtroom,” the police statement read.
