FG shifts resumption date for tertiary institutions, as schools remain shut till March 20
Following the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to move the scheduled March 11 governorship and state Houses of Assembly election by one week, the Ministry of Education has consequently postponed resumption date for tertiary institutions in the country.
Confirming the development, Thursday, Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who disclosed, said schools will remain closed till March 20, 2023.
INEC announced, late Wednesday, that due to the leave it received from the Court of Appeal to reconfigure its Bimodal Voter’s Accreditation System (BVAS) machines, it is shifting the scheduled Governorship election by one week to a new date of March 18.
Federal Government had earlier closed public schools, including higher institutions between February 22 and March 14, ahead of the ongoing 2023 general elections.
