FG will complete all projects started in South East – VP Osinbajo

All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government has said it would fully complete all projects it initiated in the South East region.

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo disclosed this Monday at the official opening of an ultra – modern, multifunctional and digital leather industrial hub equipped by the collaboration of federal and Anambra state government in Ogbunike in Oyi local council of Anambra State.
Osinbajo also assured that the government would enhance the business environment of the South East.
The Vice President further assured that both the Federal and the State government would not relent in making the area conducive for investment.
According to him, the essence of commissioning of the facility is to ensure that small businesses get opportunities to sophisticated equipment.
Minister of Trade, Investment and Industry, Ambassador Mariam Katagum, in his remarks, said that the Federal Government was committed to empowering Nigerians.
He said the commissioning of the project was a step in the right direction.
Also speaking, Governor Willie Obiano explained that the economic benefits of the complex were enormous, including creation of jobs and hundreds of small businesses that would have direct impact on the Gross Domestic Product of the state.
Obiano said the complex was fully equipped with the latest technology for shoe making so that the process of manufacturing shoes in the State was fully automated from start to finish, which would be comparable to the highest shoe making processes in the advanced countries.
Earlier, the Managing Director, Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA), Mr Clement Chukwuka commended the Federal Government for the creation and effective management of the national Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSME’s) programmes which resulted in the provision of shoe and leather making digital equipment to the State.
According to him, the agency judiciously and prudently utilized the N2billion (MSMEs) from the Central Bank bank of Nigeria to achieve this feat.
