FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup: The Netherlands dump Falconets out of tournament with 2-0 win
Two early first half goals scored by Dutch girls; Ziva Henry (33rd minute) and Zera Hilswit (12th minute), were enough to get The Netherlands U-20 Women past Nigeria’s Falconets and through to the semi final at the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
The match played at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium, late Sunday night, saw the Falconet, Group C able toppers with three wins in three matches emerging 9 maximum points facing The Netherlands, who scored following poor clearances from the Nigerian defenders gifting the Dutch girls with open shots from inside the 18-yard areas of Nigeria.
Falconets also had a penalty awards overturned by a VAR decision after The Netherlands’ goalkeeper fouled Oshobukola in the 96th minute.

Nigeria’s Falconets had been high-flying in the competition since last week, beating South Korea 1-0, Canada 3-1 and France by 1-0, to top their Group C table with the nine maximum points.
Also striker, Esther Onyenezide bagged two Player of the Match awards with three goals in the three matches played.
France finished second with six points, while South Korea came third with three points. Canada ended their campaign pointless from three matches.
