Former APC National Chairman, Buni wins Yobe governorship election
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni as winner of the Yobe governorship election, and re-elected for a second term in office.
Announcing the result at the INEC headquarters in Damaturu, State Returning Officer, Prof Umar Pate said Buni of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 317,113 to defeat his closest rival, Sheriff Abdullahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 104,259.
According to Pate, a total of 1,485,146 voters registered, while 459,492 were accredited to vote.
