The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority (NMDRA) has entered consultation with key investment groups in the Nigerian petroleum products market to explore resolution to the lingering supply impasse.
Yesterday, the agency of petroleum ministry held a private meeting with key members of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) in Abuja on ways of dismantling bottlenecks in the domestic fuel supply system.
The Oracle Today reports that the Authority Chief Executive of the NMDRA, Ahmed Farouk, led the discussions with the investors who hold the largest stock of different petroleum products imported into the country.
Detail of the meeting were not immediately made public but it is understood that the government agency and private depot operators and importers of petroleum products extensively explored ways of ending the crippling fuel scarcity in the country.
Prominent among industry players that attended the meeting is the managing Director of Mainland Oil and Gas Limited, Dr Chris Igwe, OFR, among others.
In a tweet, the NMDRA stated that the meeting with DAPPMAN sought to address “critical issues on sustaining a steady supply of Petroleum Products across the Country.”
