Gov Nwifuru insists on liberal, social democracy as APC stakeholders’ meeting ends in Abakaliki
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru says his administration is irrevocably committed to running an all inclusive government in the state.
This he said is the reason people are consulted before any policy is initiated.
Governor Nwifuru made the assertion on Sunday during the APC Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Ecumenical Centre Abakaliki.
“In Ebonyi we commit to social and liberal democracy which the All Progressives Congress is founded upon”, he said.
“And we pursue this with our energy and resources. We do this because whatever we do as government, the people decide it inline with the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda of this administration.
While speaking on the need to end marginalization as complained by the South Easterners, the National Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Umar Ganduje called on the people of the zone to join the ruling party for inclusion in the nation’s political mainstream.
Ganduje said:
“I am happy with what the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt Hon Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has done. There is a complaint of marginalization of the South East.
“I can assure you that the only way to end the marginalization is for the political elites to be united and serious in addressing the complaints.
“One of the ways is for them to join the APC. We are starting online registration of members. I urge others to join us in the party”.
Speaking during the event, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Chairman, APC Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State said ” I acknowledge the global hardships. In some countries, a Dollar is exchanged for 15 thousand, yet these countries have not given up. I am happy that here in Nigeria, our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has beautiful programmes for us as a nation.
“As leaders in various positions, we are committed to ensuring the interests of Ndigbo are at all times protected.
“Ebonyi State is now a template for the APC, we are now working towards bringing others in the South East Zone to the party.
Let peace reign and let hunger end in the land”.
Speakers at the event, the Deputy National Chairman, South Chief Emma Eneukwu, National vice Chairman, South East,Chief Ijeoma Arodiogbu, Deputy Speaker of House of Repessntatives, Benjamin Kalu and a host of others stressed on the need for people to join the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to reposition the country.
