Gov Otu, Ironbar, Eteng confident of victory in Cross River council polls

Senator Bassey Otu, the Cross River State governor says his party, the All Progressives Party will sweep majority of seats in the state’s local government elections.
The governor disclosed this while casting his vote alongside his wife at Adiabo – Ukotikang polling Unit in Govt. Primary School Adiabo Efut, in Odukpani local government area.
“We are confident that the residents of Cross River State will cast their votes in favor of the APC, recognizing us as the party that will fulfill our commitments.
“We have a well-defined vision for the state, and the party’s candidates in the councils understand that they must align with the state government’s agenda and exhibit unwavering dedication to realizing good governance”, the governor said.
Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to the governor Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar said the APC is the only party at the moment in the state and will clinch all the 18 chairmanship seats.
Hon. Ironbar who cast his vote at the Atu Field Primary School in Calabar South also disclosed that the election underscores the governors commitment of keep to his promise of bringing government closer to the people.
On his part, the Senator representing Cross River Central in the National assembly Eteng Williams
challenged the chairmen that will emerge from the outcome of Saturday’s Local Government election in Cross River to compliment the developmental strides of Gov. Bassey Otu.
Eteng who disclosed this shortly after casting his vote at his Atuma polling unit, Nkpani ward in Yakurr local government said with the council complimentary role is the quickest way to realising the governor’s vision for transforming the state.
On his part, the All Progressives Congress Chairmanship candidate for Calabar Municipality James Anam described the entire process as encouraging, said he has done all needed for him to emerge victorious.
He said their role will be to compliment Governor Otu ‘s efforts by bringing policies , programmes that will boost what he has been doing especially at the grassroots.
