The Cross River State Governor, Sen. Bassey Otu, has promised a better deal for women in his administration.

The governor disclosed this in Calabar, Wednesday, when a socio-political organization, Team Mma-Adiaha, hosted him and his wife, Rev. (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Otu, to a post-election grand reception.

He said his administration might give women more than 50% in appreciation of the good work they did for his election.

“Don’t despair. They talk about 50%, we don’t know how it will be, but I can assure you it might be more than that.

“I believe that the women have shown their strength and in order to recognize, strengthen and encourage them, we must appreciate the level of hard work which they have put in handsomely.

“Be rest assured that there will be more than enough for everybody. All we are begging at the moment is please, exercise some patience”, the governor said.

The governor said he will Soon unveil something magical  that will transform the socio-economic status of our people soon.

He thanked the wine for displaying  uncommon bravery and stressed that  “it was through their catalytic demonstration that made us to be where we are today”.

He added that there is a great expectation on his administration and pledged not to fail.

Mrs. Otu praised the women for the honour accorded them and promised to ensure that women have fair representation in the administration.

Coordinator of the group, Mrs Uduak Efem, disclosed that the group was birthed over a year ago to mobilize women across the 18 local government areas to support the ambition of Sen. Otu.

She expressed excitement that their support led to the actualization of the Senator Otu gubernatorial ambition.
