Gowon storms Abia to lead prayers for Otti’s administration, wellbeing of Nigeria

A former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, will storm Umuahia, Abia State capital, on Sunday, April 23, 2023, for a one day National Prayer Rally to pray for the success of the incoming administration of Dr. Alex Otti.
The National Prayer Rally, being organized by Nigeria Prays and scheduled to hold at The Masters Vessel Ministry headquarters, 73 Azikiwe Road, Umuahia, has the theme: “When the Righteous are in Authority,” (Proverbs 29:2).
The programme has the Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Prof. Madu Ofo Iwe, as the Guest Speaker.
A statement by the Abia State Coordinator of Nigeria Prays, Apostle Dr. Chuks Alozie, indicated that the Rally which has the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie IKPEAZU, as Chief Host and the President, Masters Vessel Ministry, Pastor Amara Uwaeziozi, as the Host Minister, will attract the Presence of His Excellency,
Gen. Gowon.
Apostle Dr. Alozie enjoined Abians to troop out for the Prayer Rally which kicks of by 2.30 p.m, adding that it would feature special prayers for the success of the Dr. Alex Otti-led administration which would take off from May 29, 2023.
“Christians, Intercessors and all those wishing and trusting God for New dimension of good governance in Abia State to come out en masse as the gathering will offer special prayers for Dr Alex Otti, Governor-elect of Abia State and Engr Emetu Ikechukwu, the Deputy Governor-elect, for God’s guidance, wisdom and protection as they take over the saddle of government come 29th May, 2023,” Apostle Alozie said.
According to him, there would be choir ministrations from The United Church of Christ choir, Masters Vessel Ministry Choir and ECWA Township Church Choir, amongst other psalmists.
He explained that Nigeria Prays, a pet project of the former Head of State, Gowon, who is also the Chairman of the non-governmental prayer organization, has existed as a prayer ministry in the past 27years and has severally held its prayer activities across the 36 States of the Federation, Abuja and also in the United Kingdom and United States of America with Nigerians yearning for a new Nigeria.
Apostle Alozie further explained that Abia State was hosting the 2023 edition of the Nigeria Prays National Prayer Rally, on behalf of South East Zone comprising Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Abia State; noting that it was the first National Prayer Rally to be organized by Nigeria Prays after the just concluded 2023 General Elections.
He listed South East Coordinators expected to join National Prayer Rally to include
Engr Jeff Nwabueze (Anambra), Pastor Barr Adolphus Nnebue (Imo), Evang Ngozi Robinson (Ebonyi) and Prof Onyeisioche Ogu (Enugu), along side other National officers to be led by the National Secretary, Evang Austin Kemie.
The Abia State Coordinator of Nigeria Prays also disclosed that other men of God who would join in the prayer session to intercede for Nigeria’s wellbeing are: Christian Association of Nigeria Chairman, Abia State, Senior Apostle Emmanuel O. Agomoh; Bishop of Isiala Ngwa Diocese, Anglican Communion and Archbishop Aba Ecclesiastical Province, Archbishop Isaac Chijioke Nwaobia; District Superintendent, The United Church of Christ District 4, Rev. Dr Emma Nzeako and The Deputy General Superintendent, The Saviours Evangelical Church, Nigeria Inc, Rev. Ukanwanne Ikwunze
The rest are the Chairman Aba DCC ECWA, Rev. Ojo Ojo; Zonal Coordinator, South East Zone Nigeria Prays, Prof B.N Marire, amongst other anointed Servants of God.
