In line with its commitment to the welfare of the less privileged, a non-governmental organization, the NBM of Africa has extended love through gifts to some less privileged children in Calabar by doling out items worth several thousands of naira for this year’s yuletide.
Kingsley Nwobodo, the state president of the group in company of other executives and members of the association visited the Infant Jesus Orphanage Home and donated several bags of rice, yam tubers, toiletries among other items.
He said “The spirit of Christmas is not just about celebration and cheer; it’s about sharing, caring, and spreading love, especially to those who need it the most.
“Today, as we gather in the festive mood, we are reminded of the true essence of this season – giving and sharing.
“We are here not just to celebrate, but to be a part of something larger than ourselves, to contribute to the joy and well-being of these wonderful children, who deserve all the happiness in the world.
“Each child here is a shining star, and today, we have brought some small tokens to make their Christmas a little brighter”, he said.
The state president added that the gifts symbolism their commitment and affection to the children.
He added that the children need continuous love and support and the NBM will always be there for them.
“These gifts, though simple, are packed with love, care, and warm wishes. They symbolize our commitment and affection towards these young souls, reminding them that they are cherished and valued.
“As we distribute these gifts, let us remember that the most precious gift we can offer is our time, love, and attention.
“These children need our continuous support and care to grow into confident and capable individuals. This is what the NBM is all about and we pledge to be there for them, not just today, but every day”.
On his part, Julius Egbe, an ex-president of the organisation said the group stands against the ills in society and promote equal right and justice for all”.
He further said “whenever there is a cry of injustice and oppression, NBM of Africa is always there, on the side of the justice.
Receiving the items, Sister Chibueze Igboase, the head of the Infant Jesus Orphanage Home thanked the donors for their concern.
According to her, “the donation is very nice, wonderful and gives joy.
“It is God that made this possible and wherever you got money to do this, may God continue to replenish it through Christ our Lord”, she said.
