Group renews calls on FG to sanction PAP boss Ndiomu
A peace advocacy pressure group, the Niger Delta Security Volunteers has expressed disappointment over alleged leak of confidential government security documents by the Interim Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP), Maj-Gen Barry Ndiomu (Rtd).
The group noted that experts and analysts have condemned the act describing it as a deliberate, obvious move by Ndiomu to try and scuttle the APC’s Sylva/Maciver ticket in favour of PDP’s Douye Diri.
The group noted that the open display of partisanship by Ndiomu, an appointee of the APC led Federal Government has been overwhelmingly rejected by many in the Niger Delta region and beyond.
Speaking to the press on Monday, Chairman of the Niger Delta Security Volunteers Chief Samuel Mpigi James said: “I do not care about Ndiomu’s connection with the PDP which we all know, after all his sister Hon Ebizi Ndiomu Brown is a serving member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly with a PDP ticket which we hear he procured.
“Personally, and as a group whose primary tenet is the peace of the Niger Delta region, our chief concern is the fact he leaked confidential government documents to the press. It is unheard of and we apologise to the entire country that our own son can be such a terrible ambassador.
“We hereby call for his sack, probe and possible prosecution because the act of leaking Federal Government confidential documents not only contravenes Public Service Rules but it falls short on moral and ethical grounds,’
The group also vowed to write petitions to the President, Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector General of Police, the Director of the Department of State Security and as well as the Leadership of the National Assembly.
