Gunmen attack military checkpoint in Enugu, two feared killed

Two persons have been reportedly feared killed following an attack by gunmen on a military checkpoint in early hours of Tuesday in Enugu State.
The incident took place along Obeagu-Amodu road in Enugu South Local Government Area of the State.
Sources told our Correspondent that the gunmen stormed the area in two Lexus Jeeps and one Toyota Sienna bus around 7:25 am on Tuesday and opened fire on the officers on duty at the check point.
A combined team of soldiers and policemen were said to be at the checkpoint.
No fewer than two security agents were said to have fallen casualty of the attack, according to Eyewitnesses.
Efforts to get the reaction of the spokesperson of Enugu state Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, as of the time of filing this report failed.
