Gunmen attack office of Enugu Neighborhood Watch, kill two personnel

Unknown gun men on Tuesday night attacked the local government office of Enugu State Vigilance group, Neighborhood Watch, located at Ogurute in Enugu-Ezike of Igbo-Eze North LGA of the State, killing two personnel.
The patrol vehicles of the vigilance group were also set ablaze by the hoodlums.
A statement from the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the development on Wednesday.
The statement noted that the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Abubakar Lawal, had ordered the State CID to carry out a full-scale investigation to fish out and bring the assailants to book.
Lawal who visited office of Neighbourhood Watch for on-the-spot assessment of attack, described the act as senseless.
“The CP commiserates with family members and friends of the deceased personnel of the Group and prays for the quick recovery of those hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the Police said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the crime and were already helping in the ongoing investigation.
