Gunmen kill Anambra transport agency official

Gunmen, Tuesday morning, reportedly killed an official of Anambra State Transport Management Agency (ATMA) at Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of the State.
The hoodlums also robbed a petrol station in the area.
This is even as gunmen also attempted to snatch a rifle from a mobile policeman along Oko-Umunze Road.
It was gathered that the yet-to-be identified official of the ATMA, was said to be controlling traffic at the ever busy Ekwulobia junction when he was shot dead.
The Police spokesman, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, in a statement on Tuesday, confirmed an attempt by hoodlums to disarm a policeman at Umunze road.
According to the statement preliminary information revealed that along Umunze road the hoodlums in an attempt to disarm a mobile Police officer on patrol, started shooting sporadically, but thr Mobile Police Officer, returned the fire and immediately engaged the hoodlums which made the gun men flee the scene.
