Gunmen on robbery rampage kill 4 in Anambra

Heavily armed men in strong axle vehicles stormed inner commercial cities of Anambra State, raided some business premises and left four men dead in a string of robbery operations.
The gang which operated with sophisticated weapons and high profile vehicles also sprayed wads of cash into the air during the heist in order to distract gathering crowd and beat a smooth escape.
Local sources who had spread the story of the incident in message apps on Tuesday narrated how the gang went from location to location robbing and killing their victims unchallenged.
It was gathered that the armed robbers drove recklessly across the towns in a convoy of all axle Mercedes Benz and Toyota pickup vans, robbing traders and raiding a petroleum retail outlet in markets located in Aguata council area of the state.
Fatal casualties of the heist, according to sources, were recorded at the popular Ekwulobia business hubs, near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
Police sources could not be reached to confirm secondary reports of killings by the same gang at Oko, Igboukwu and another location at Ekwulobia.
One of the victims, witnesses said, was a yet to be identified operative of the state’s traffic task force who was said to have been shot at Ekwulobia roundabout in Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
