Ibom Air joins IATA ahead venture into international flight operations
Indigenous carrier, Ibom Air has officially joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) group, as a full member, ahead of a planned venture into international flight operations.
The Akwa Ibom State-owned airline, in a statement made available, Friday, said the carrier was welcomed to the body by the Director General of IATA, Willy Walsh, in a letter dated 15 August 2023.
The airline stated membership of the association offered them a new world of cooperation and opportunities in the international airline community.
“Ibom Air has become a full member of the International Air Transport Association. The airline was welcomed to the body by the Director General of IATA, Mr. Willy Walsh, in a letter dated 15 August 2023.
“We are delighted to have completed the administrative processes and to now become a full member of IATA. Apart from the multiple benefits Ibom Air stands to gain as a member of the Association, our membership particularly offers a whole new world of cooperation opportunities in the international airline community.
“We intend to tap fully into these as we expand our footprint into the region and continent,” the Chief Operating Officer, Ibom Air, George Uriesi stated.
