ICA honours Gov. Ayade’s aide for developing cocoa industry in Cross River

Institute of Corporate Administration (ICA) has honoured the Special Adviser to the Cross River Governor on Cocoa Development and Control, Ntufam Dr. Oscar Ofuka, along with 10 others with a Fellow of the institute.
The investiture was done in Calabar during the institute’s 2022 Strategy and Kick-off Conference.
This year’s event which held over the weekend drew participants from across the country and had as theme: ‘Appreciating Technology Trends in the New Work Environment.’
Speaking after receiving the award, Dr. Ofuka thanked the institute for finding him worthy to become a fellow of the institute and acknowledging his contributions to the development of the state and society at large.
In his words, “I am happy today because the people out there have been able to appreciate the good works we are doing in Cross River State which has lead to the presentation of this unique award from the institute.
“I’m particularly excited to have been identified as one of the persons who has contributed to the development of the state in particular and society as a whole”, he said.
He dedicated his award to the state governor Professor Ben Ayade for giving him the opportunity to serve and pledged to do more.
He added that the award will spur him to do more in advancing the cocoa revolution going on in Cross River State.
Speaking on Cocoa Development, he disclosed that thus far, a new lease of life has been added to the various cocoa plantations in Cross River State and millions of improved seedlings have been distributed free to cocoa farmers.
He added that old and moribund estates planted over 54 years ago are being regenerated and promised that the Ikom Cocoa processing plant in the state will not lack cocoa beans because of what they are doing.
Earlier, Gabrial Osang, the guest lecturer and Director, Academic Affairs, University of Calabar said the global system today needs professionals.
Osang, whose lecture was titled: “Mastering the tools of administrative professionals in our current trend” emphasized that training of administrators is critical to address today’s challenges and make the world a better place.
This year’s event drew participants from across the country and eleven persons were honoured for their contributions to the development of Cross River State and Nigeria.
