
Iwuanyanwu, successful leader, lover of his people – Otti mourns

…Also condoles with Adaelu, Nnanna Kalu families

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has described the departed Igbo leader, Engr. Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo) as a great, patriotic leader who loved his people.

“Chief Iwuanyanwu was a great patriot, lover of his people, a successful leader and an outstanding professional and businessman,” Governor Otti said of the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide who passed away last Thursday, July 25, 2024.
Reacting to the demise of the elder statesman through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Citizen Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the Abia Governor said he received “with shock and heavy heart, the sudden demise” of the late sage.
“Governor Otti described the death of the leader of Ndigbo Worldwide as a great loss to the Igbo nation and the entire country. He described Chief Iwuanyanwu as a great patriot, lover of his people, a successful leader and an outstanding professional, businessman and leader,” the statement read in part.
“On behalf of the Government and People of Abia State, Governor Otti commiserates with the family of the Elder Statesman, Imo State Government, the South-East, the Igbo nation across the globe and the country at large,” it added.
Similarly, Governor has condoled with family of late Chief Emmanuel Adaelu of Osisioma Ngwa over the death of their patriarch. Late Adaelu, was a great political leader in the state and a successful industrialist.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Governor Otti said he has “received the News of the passing of an octogenarian and Great Abia son, Elder Emmanuel Adaelu, MFR.”
He described the late Elder Adaelu as a successful entrepreneur and businessman who left his name on the sands of time.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Abia State, Governor Otti commiserates with the family of the Late Elder Adaelu, the good people of Osisioma Ngwa Local Government and the entire state on the passing of the great icon,” the statement added.
Also, Governor Alex Otti has expressed great sadness over the death of Chief Echeme Nnanna Kalu of the Nnanna Kalu dynasty.
The Governor said he was devastated by the news of the sudden demise of Chief Echeme Nnanna Kalu.
According to a statement the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, “the tragic and untimely death of Chief Nnannna Kalu is a personal loss to Governor Otti who had very close relationship with the deceased,” adding that he described Chief Nnanna Kalu as “a great son of Abiriba, an astute businessman a philanthropist, a child of God and a preacher of the gospel.”
Ukoha said the Governor extended his sympathies to the family of Late Chief Nnanna Kalu and the entire Abiriba Community on the demise of her illustrious son, on behalf of the government and people of Abia State.
