JONAPWD Elections: C’River Police Commissioner warns against unlawful actions

The Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Gyagon Augustine Grimah, has warned members of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Cross River State chapter against actions that go against the laws of the land.
Gyagon Grimah in Càlabar, while supervising the inauguration of JONAPWD caretaker and ELECO Committee.
The committee was inaugurated ahead of its elections which is scheduled to hold on February 15, 2024.
“I would always be here for you people as far as security is concerned.
“Make sure you conduct yourself in a peaceful manner according to the existing laws of the land”, he said.
In his speech, delivered during extra ordinary congress, with the theme; “Nothing for us without Us”, Chairman of Caretaker committee of JONAPWD Cross River State chapter, Professor Jacob Agba, appealed for peace and unity of members in order to move the association forward.
Agba who spoke topic, Actualizing, Peace and Unity in JONAPWD, shortly after affirmation of the caretaker and ELECO Committee by members stated that with peace and unity, stakeholders can partner the state government to attract several goodies for members particularly those without jobs.
In his remarks, Convener, and Pioneers of Disability Civil Rights Movement and Policy Change in Nigeria, Dr. Job Napoleon Agbor, expressed happiness over the presence of the state Commissioner of Police who came in person to supervise activities of JONAPWD in Cross River State.
He solicited for sustenance of peace which he said can attract growth and provide opportunity for the association stakeholders to lift the JONAPWD to enviable pedestal.
