Kaduna councils’ poll: APC takes three, PDP claims one seat
Results of the Kaduna State Local Government Area elections conducted, Saturday have started trickling in, as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC has so far claimed three slots, while the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won one seat.
Kaduna has 23 local government areas (LGAs).
In Sanga LGA, Honorable Bisallah Malam of the APC has been returned the winner of the just concluded Chairmanship election in Sanga LG. Announcing the results, the Kaduna Independent Electoral Commission Returning Officer said the APC candidate scored 21,854 votes to defeat the PDP which scored 12,832
In Jema’a LGA, Yunana Markus Barde of APC won the Chairmanship election polling 24,255 to defeat the PDP candidate and incumbent Chairman, Peter Danjuma Averik, who polled 23,215 votes.
The returning officer, Dr. Sunday Ibrahim, announced the results.
In Kaura LGA, Prof. Katoh Ishaya, the returning officer announced the PDP candidate, Matthias Siman, as winner of the election having polled 19,511 against Adamu Donatus of the APC who polled 10,941 votes.
There are ten wards in Kaura local government and the PDP won nine councillor seats while the APC won one.
In Kagarko LGA, the Returning Officer, Dr. Musa Balarabe Makarfi, announced that the APC candidate, Hon. Nasara Rabo, polled 20,558 to defeat his closest rival of the PDP, Caleb Pius, who polled 14,494.
