Kanu: We’ll lock down South East for one month, if…- IPOB vows
[From CHINEDU NWAFOR, Abakaliki]
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has threatened to lock down South East region for one month, if the Federal government of Nigeria refused to produce their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to court on October 21, 2021.

Kanu is billed to appear in court on October 21, 2021.
According to IPOB, if Kanu is not brought to court, Nigeria will know that Kanu commands the unflinching loyalty of over 60 million Biafrans home and in Diaspora.
A statement issued by IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful on Wednesday alleged that the Federal Government had perfected plans not to bring him to court on scheduled date.
“Their wicked plan is to perpetually keep him behind bars without trial to see if they can demoralise him and Biafrans but they are late.
“If the federal government refuses to bring him to court in his next court appearance on October 21, 2021, the entire Biafra land will be on total lock down for one month. The federal government will know that they cannot take us for granted any more. Our peaceful disposition as a people should not be misconstrued as weakness.
“Nigeria cannot incarcerate our leader illegally and expect things to be normal again. If by October 21, Kanu is not brought to court, Nigeria will know that Kanu commands the unflinching loyalty of over 60 million Biafrans home and in Diaspora.”
The group said by keeping Kanu out of circulation, his health would be in jeopardy and IPOB won’t allow that.
IPOB noted that the federal Government must explain why it chose to disobey court orders and expect citizens to watch like conquered slaves, but could grant amnesty to terrorists and bandits killing soldiers and citizens.
It argued that there was no reason whatsoever for the Federal government to keep peaceful agitators in perpetual detention.
