Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr. Peter Obi launched the portal during the party’s leadership retreat which held under the theme of; ‘Nigeria at a Crossroad: Labour Party the only option.’
The retreat which held in Abuja, provided platform for the party to hold a think-tank meeting with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), towards mobilizing voters for the party ahead of the 2023 elections.
Remarking, National Chairman of the party, Mr. Julius Abure said the party has a unique opportunity ahead of other political parties in the country, adding that the Labour Party ‘is fielding competent candidates for the elections.’
On his part, Dr Obi urged that the 2023 General Election ‘should be based on competence and not on religious and ethnic sentiments.’
President of the NLC, Mr. Ayuba Wabba who was at the retreat said the union is delighted to be part of the consultations and would be part of the mobilization of Nigerians to vote in the party in 2023.
