Ebonyi State Government has absolved herdsmen in the attack that occurred in Otuebu and Obodo Ocha villages of Umuogodo-Akpu Ngbo community, in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State at about 2am Monday morning in which four persons were reportedly killed.
This was contained in a statement signed by Dr Monday Uzor, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, on Monday.
The statement said the Government of Ebonyi State was in touch with the leadership of the Fulani herdsmen ( Miyetti Allah) who had denied involvement in the attack.
The statement, however, linked the attack to the age-long crisis between the community and their Agila neighbours of Benue State.
The State government further urged the people of Ngbo to remain law abiding and avoid reprisal, assuring that government was working hard to restore normalcy to the affected Community.
