
Mother of 4 nabbed with suspected human skull, as police confirm 3 persons killed in Bauchi community attack by gunmen

Police Command in Edo State, Thursday, said it has arrested a mother of four caught with a suspected human skull.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello, who disclosed this in Benin City, the state capital, while briefing newsmen on the activities of the command within the last two weeks, also said that the command within the period arrested 16 suspects within the state for various crimes.

The mother of four caught with the suspected human skull had advised other women not to get involved in selling of human parts no matter the financial gains, saying it is evil.
Narrating her level of involvement in the crime, the suspect said that she bought the human skull at N8,000 from a cemetery attendant.
She said that she sold the skull to a male suspect who approached her for it at the rate of N40, 000.
The suspect who is also a divorcee and deals in traditional items added that for a good job delivery, the male suspect gave her an extra N5,000.
She said that she sold the human skull to the male suspect in February but was arrested in May despite warning him not to involve her in any form of troubles.
Similarly, the male suspect, also a heavy duty operator, had been arrested by the police.
He, narrating his roles, said that he was asked by a herbalist whom he had met to get a human skull for sacrifice to enable him be more prosperous in his business.
However, the herbalist who had also been arrested, said that the male suspect approached him that he needed a soap and he advised him to get a human skull for him to get the ritual done.
The 42 year-old herbalist said that the male suspect came to him with a human skull two months after which he used for the ritual.
Reacting, the Commissioner of Police in Edo, Mr Abutu Yaro, assured the people of the state that the command would not allow criminal elements to take over the state.
He said the command would do everything in its power to protect the lives and property of the residents of the state.
Meanwhile, Police command in Bauchi has confirmed the murder of three persons by gunmen at Yadagungume Community in Ningi Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Wakil, who confirmed the incident, Thursday, in Bauchi, said that one person was abducted and later found dead.
He said the incident which occurred at about 02:00 hours was reported to the Police on Wednesday, at about 5.00 a.m.
“Some gunmen invaded Yadagungume village, shot two people, one Shuaibu Sani, 25, and Ruwa Ali, 35, all male, living in Limi village via Sama Ward, while one Yusuf Sani, 30, of Yadagungume, sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to the General Hospital Ningi. He is currently being treated at the hospital.
“Also, gunmen abducted a 26-year-old Shuaibu Bala of the same Yadagungume and whisked him to an unknown destination,” he said.
The PPRO added that two persons were taken to a hospital in Yadagungume for medical examination, where they were certified dead by a medical doctor and their remains released to their families for burial.
He said the command received a distress call and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Burra Division led a team of policemen to the scene where 13 empty shells of AK-47 were recovered, saying the suspects are still at large.
He said the State Commissioner of Police, Umar Sanda, had directed the Area Commander and the DPO Burra to intensify efforts to see that the perpetrators of the act are arrested to face the full wrath of the law.
