NACCIMA commends Gov. Obaseki for establishing Edo Tech Park
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), the Edo State Government for the recent commissioning of the Edo Tech Park, an elite software engineering and leadership-training institute in the state.
National President of NACCIMA, Ide John Udeagbala who stated this during a curtsey visit to the Governor Godwin Obaseki in Benin, the state capital, recently, said that Edo Tech Park is evidence to bridging the unemployment gap by the current administration in the state.
It is worthy to note, “that this is also a keen area of interest of my tenure as the NACCIMA President “Harnessing Technology and Digital Ecosystem” for the establishment of Tech-hubs and Co-creation centres in the NACCIMA 3 Geo-business zones.”
“As you are aware, we are members of NACCIMA, the premier national Chamber of commerce and leading member of the organised private sector (OPS) in Nigeria. We hold our Exco and Council meetings quarterly in various parts of the Country hosted by the Chambers in that State.
“This is our systematic way of connecting with our members at the grassroots. In view of this our last Exco and Council meeting was held in Akure, Ondo State; the agricultural centre for several of our members. Today we are here in Benin, Edo state, the heartbeat of Nigeria, “Udeagbala said.
“Your Excellency, your re-election as the Executive Governor of Edo State is a testament of the faith the good people of Edo state has in your visionary leadership.
I sincerely commend you, your Excellency for your efforts towards strengthening and repositioning the key sectors in the state to significantly accelerate economic growth and development. Your visionary 30-year development plan for Edo state is definitely a step in the right direction which will redefine the state.
“A bright future awaits Edo state and Nigeria in general with the full implementation of this development plan. The state chamber is ready and committed to work with your administration in achieving these lofty dreams that will re-write the history books.
“Furthermore, the recent commissioning of the Edo Tech Park, an elite software engineering and leadership-training institute is evidence to bridging the unemployment gap by your administration. “As you already know technology is the new frontier of most economies which provides opportunities to trigger significant inclusive economic growth and reducing unemployment.
“ wish to use this opportunity to appeal to you your Excellency, to further increase your support to the chamber movement in Edo State by ensuring that the chamber has a permanent site and location to carry out its activities.
He said NACCIMA was established in 1960 as the premier chamber movement. As the “Voice of Nigerian Business”, the association is focused on ensuring an enabling business environment that is created and sustained through policy advocacy, promoting growth and competitiveness of business through proper and prompt information dissemination.
“Today’s visit avails us the ample opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to your administration for its support to the Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA).
