NACCIMA trade mission to USA focuses on exploring partnership opportunities

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has disclosed plans for a high-level trade mission to the State of Michigan, United States, from September 24 to September 27, 2024, in collaboration with the Global African Business Association (GABA).
In a statement, the National President of NACCIMA, Dele Kelvin Oye Esq., said the trade mission will focus on strengthening business partnerships between Nigeria and Michigan, while exploring investment, and public-private partnerships to support economic growth and showcase Nigeria’s readiness for increased international trade and market access.
The statement reads: “The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) is pleased to announce a high-level trade mission to the State of Michigan, USA, from September 24 to September 27, 2024, in collaboration with the Global African Business Association (GABA). The mission is aimed at fostering stronger economic ties and exploring investment opportunities between Nigeria and Michigan.
“Founded in 1960, NACCIMA is the umbrella organization for various chambers of commerce across Nigeria, representing the interests of businesses in the promotion of free enterprise, commerce, and industrial development. This trade mission aligns with NACCIMA’s dedication to advocating for economic growth and exploring strategic partnerships to further the Prosperity of the Nigerian business community.”
Expressing excitement about the trade Mission, Oye added, “This visit to Michigan presents a unique opportunity for Nigerian businesses to connect with their counterparts in the United States, particularly in the areas of automotive, agricultural technology, and mobility. We are committed to fostering relationships that will promote sustainable growth and investment in both regions.”
On his part, the President of GABA, Akindele Akinyemi shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This mission represents a critical step in strengthening the economic bridge between Michigan and Nigeria. The opportunities for trade, investment, and collaboration in areas such as mobility and smart city development are immense. We look forward to working closely with NACCIMA to foster meaningful connections that will benefit both regions for years to come.”
The NACCIMA delegation will engage with key stakeholders in Michigan, including government officials, industry leaders, and economic development agencies.
NACCIMA will also meet with Michigan policymakers, to discuss strategic partnerships. These engagements will help to strengthen economic alliances between Nigeria and Michigan, laying the foundation for future collaborations.
According to Oye, “This trade mission underscores NACCIMA’s commitment to promoting Nigeria’s economic interests on the global stage while enhancing the long-term trade and investment relationship between Nigeria and the Great Lakes region of the United States. The mission will serve as a gateway for Nigerian businesses to tap into Michigan’s leadership in sectors such as automotive technology, agriculture, and smart city development.
