Odukpani: Our season of sweetness will get to the grassroots – Asido

The chairman of Odukpani local government area in Southern Cross River State Hon. Etim Asido says the season of sweetness in the state will get to the grassroots.
Hon. Asido disclosed this at the Council headquarters while receiving the handover notes from the Head of Local Government Administration, Felix Ndifon.
Hon. Asido emphasized that there is no more secrecy in governance and pledged to run a transparent government that will place good governance, accountability and responsibility at the forefront.
“The governor has mandated us to deliver dividends of democracy to the grassroots and we want to ensure that this mandate is delivered to Odukpani people.
” We hope to bring in good governance, accountability and responsibility and also ensure that the season of sweetness gets down to the grassroots.
“We are here to ensure that the government machinery is run very well and to the benefit of Odukpani people.
“In this information age, there is no secret again in government, government is not a secret cult, we represent people and will be very open to them”, he said.
The newly elected council helmsman also issued a proclamation to mark the formal opening of the 8th Assembly of the Odukpani Legislature and pledged to uphold the dignity and independence of the assembly.
He said he’s well disposed to ensuring a robust synergy with the 8th Odukpani assembly to propel the council to greater heights.
Following the proclamation, Effiom Ekene Effiom from Ekori Anaku ward was elected leader with Godwin Ndem from Eniong Ward elected deputy leader.
