Leading aspirant for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency By-election, Godwin Offiono says he will attract democracy to his people in all ramifications.
Offiono made this known in Calabar after a successful screening of aspirants by the Peoples Democratic Party.
He maintained that his party is well placed to win the elections as the people are behind the party despite the defection by some members.
According to him, “We will attract government presence to Ogoja/Yala in all ramifications, I am on board and will ensure I attract the dividends of democracy to my people whether in education, health, infrastructure.
“I have been with my people, my drive is to render service to my people and I think I am very comfortable with my people.
“If I am given the opportunity l am quite convinced I am going to deliver the dividends of democracy to my people.
“The people of Ogoja Yala Federal Constituency are even more convinced I am going to do that because I have been with them”, he said.
On the chances of the PDP to win the elections, he said he is very confident because membership of the party is widespread.
He said the PDP lost nothing following recent defections from the party because the people are still with them.
“We have been on ground and PDP is a household name, our membership is widespread.
“The position which we are is not a proper position, some characters out there who are privileged to be in government have made the people think we are in opposition.
“However, we are in the mainstream and the people are still there, it’s all about the people and not some categories of people.
“The PDP lost nothing because the people are still with us and I am very confident the PDP will still win this by elections” he said.
